Get Started in the Real Estate Industry
Your Pathways into the Profession
There are three pathways into real estate in Western Australia: a restricted sales registration, a restricted property management registration, and an unrestricted registration. Those with restricted registrations can only complete real estate activities in their area of restriction, meaning a restricted property manager can only complete property management activities and a restricted salesperson can only complete sales activities. An unrestricted registration means that a person can work in either sales or property management with no restriction.
To match these three jobs, there are three levels of qualification:
- Restricted sales registration course – 13 units of competency taken from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
- Restricted property management course – 12 units of competency taken from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
- Unrestricted registration course – 18 units of competency, a full CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
